Project Description

COWLEY + MINETY 400kV
• Installation of NICAP Protection Panels / multicore / GPS Antenna
• Removal of redundant protection, control panels and telecoms equipment at each substation
• Installing and testing of fibre optics on both sites
• Installing new MCBs within existing VT boxes
• Installation of High Frequency Earthing positions on existing CVTs at each substation
• Commissioning of the NICAP Protection
• Providing site management to co-ordinate activities on site with Siemens and National Grid where applicable

Project Highlights


The sites were established on the 14th march 2011 and the project will run until the end of May.

All pre outage work was complete within the allocated time.
The outage work has progressed in line with the programme, despite the RHMZ being enforced due to the ‘FMJL CT’ issue. RTS to be achieved in line with the programme
